This was the 2019 Spanish Grand Prix

FP1:

Valtteri Bottas sets the fastest lap of FP1, although his W10 developed a leak a few minutes from the end of the session, as did Max Verstappen's RB15. Lance Stroll crashed at turn 9 which brought a red flag just 70 seconds from the end.

FP2:

Valtteri Bottas did the fastest lap of the day, a 1:17.284

FP3:

The sky was a bit cloudier and the temperature much colder than on Friday. Early on the session Sebastian Vettel spun on turn 14, as did Valtteri Bottas on Turn 5, but he got stuck on the gravel bringing out a red flag that lasted just a few minutes. At the end of the session George Russell's Williams crashed at Turn 4 bringing out the second red flag and with so little time left, the session was over.

Qualifying:

Q1: Nico Hulkenberg crashed early on bringing a brief yellow flag on sector 2. Renault managed to repair the RS19 but fell to pass to Q2 by just 0.019 of a second. Out of qualifying were Hulkenberg, Stroll, Giovinazzi, Russell, and Kubica.

Q2: Charles Leclerc ran over a curb in Turn 9 damaging the floor a bit, costing him some time. A late charge got him into Q3. Valtteri Bottas set a new track record with a time of 1m:15.924s. Out of qualifying were Norris, Albon, Sainz, Raikkonen, and Perez.

Q3: Valtteri Bottas sets another new track record with a blistering 1:15.406, which was 0.634 seconds faster than second place Lewis Hamilton. Vettel qualified third, and Verstappen fourth. It was the third consecutive Pole Position for Bottas.

Race Day:

Pole sitter Valtteri Bottas had a bit of a moment with the clutch of his W10 which allowed Lewis Hamilton to overtake him at the start. Sebastian Vettel saw an opportunity and tried to pass both Mercedes on the outside of turn 1 but ran out of space and locked his front tires, flat spotting one of them and compromising the rest of his race. Max Verstappen passed the ailing Ferrari on the next turn. The rest of the race went on like usual for the Barcelona track until Lando Norris crashed into Lance Stroll bringing out the Safety Car. Hamilton pitted without loosing the lead and went on to win his third consecutive Spanish Grand Prix. It was the fifth 1-2 in a row for Mercedes in as many races of the 2019 season. Top drive by Max Verstappen to keep the Ferrari’s behind and take a well deserved 3rd place and get voted Driver of the Day.
