FP2 - Hamilton leads and crashes in wet practice

Lewis Hamilton again led the way in a rain-hit Montreal practice. He would then aquaplane in the wet and finish against the barriers at the hairpin on the intermediate tyres.

Hamilton had again a mixed session finishing again first but having another spin and ultimately ending at the barriers, causing a red flag. His car was recovered and green flags waved towards the end, though no one else ventured out.

It was a short FP2 programme for the teams as they only enjoyed the first thirty minutes of the session without rain. And they knew it - teams left the pits immediately following the green flag.

When the heavens opened and the showers came, most teams opted to stay put in the garage, with some confirming their programme completion, as McLaren radioed to Alonso: "We've got through everything that we needed to. Good job."

Ferrari had a good practice, finishing second and third with Sebastian Vettel ahead of Kimi Raikkonen, as did Lotus, who say their drivers placed fifth and seventh, with Pastor Maldonado on top.

Nico Rosberg was fourth on the leaderboard, and Williams and Red Bull completed the top ten.
