Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo wins 'Breakthrough of the Year' Laureaus award after a superb 2014 campaign.
Ricciardo, otherwise known as F1's Honey Badger, now has one more reason to keep the biggest smile on the paddock after picking up the Breakthrough of the Year award at the presigious Laureaus World Sports Award in China this Wednesday.
Ricciardo was the one man who beat the untouchable Mercedes' of Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg in 2014, not once or twice, but three times. He then rounded up his first season in Red Bull gear by finishing on the podium five more times, and out-shined his four-time F1 champion teammate Sebastian Vettel in the process.
No doubt he was one of the most popular and fan-favourites of the season — still is, and he has well-deserved this recognition. Well done, Daniel.
