Wet conditions welcomed the 2016 season as drivers tested all wet, intermediate and dry Pirelli tires. Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton came away on top, with the Red Bull duo following up in second and third.
Hamilton was able to get a dry lap in between rain showers to manage the best time, while Ferrari hasn't shown were exactly they are in comparison to Mercedes just yet. Meanwhile, Daniel Ricciardo finished 30 seconds earlier than expected, as he's car went into the gravel.
"I was intrigued to see that whatever the conditions there was a Red Bull near the top. But of course the two Mercs looked immense," -Martin Brundle
