FP2 - Vettel tops the charts in Austria

Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel bounced back from FP1’s trouble to top the timesheets before gearbox issues strike for the second time in Spielberg’s second session.

Vettel showed Ferrari has a fantastic one-lap pace, as he went fastest on the supersoft tires with a 1:09.600 to edge out Nico Rosberg (+0.011s), however Ferrari may struggle from a lack of practice running later on.

Kimi Raikkonen was third fastest in the other Ferrari, followed by Pastor Maldonado for Lotus, in a good session for the Enstone team.

Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton with more mistakes coming the world champion’s way. Both flying lap attempts ended up in mistakes - he had a few of those in FP1 too, and could only be fifth fastest overall.

Then followed Nico Hulkenberg - who comes with his confidence up high after winning Le Mans this past weekend, Romain Grosjean, Max Verstappen, Felipe Nasr and Sergio Perez.

For McLaren it was yet another difficult session with few laps, and just 34 laps completed, though they did get to try new a new short nose.
