On Saturday, Lewis Hamilton missed out on a 100th pole position, but on Sunday in Portimao the seven-time champ added a few more stats to his record book as he took home the first-place trophy for the 97th time in his F1 career. Max Verstappen came home second and pole-sitter Valtteri Bottas finished third.

The top three filled the podium for the 15th time in F1, a new record for the most recurring podium trio… It was previously held by Hamilton, Nico Rosberg and Sebastian Vettel (14 times).

 QUOTES FROM THE PODIUM:

“That was such a tough race physically and mentally. I didn’t get a good start and also lost out at the restart, but it was a great result in the end. Today wasn’t all perfect and we need to get ready now for the quick turnaround for Spain”

“I tried to put the pressure on Valtteri, but in the end I think we just lacked a little bit of pace out there today”
— Max Verstappen | Red Bull Racing | P2
“It was a tricky day today. I don’t really know what happened in the first stint. I just didn’t have the pace, for unknown reasons.”
— Valtteri Bottas | Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 | P3
